I’m at Melbourne international departure lounge…
I obviously jinxed myself by posting my flight departure time in cyberspace. My nice simple itinerary of Melbourne-Aukland-Santiago-BA (17 hours) has morphed into Melbourne-Los Angeles-Santiago-BA. Double the transit time, plus a nice 6 hour wait at LA. The LA thing comes complete with security overkill.
I guess you didn’t need to know that, but I felt the need to share. Promise the posts will get more interesting once I hit BA.

Don’t like keeping a diary. Travelogues bore me – and I’ve said for a couple of years now that I have no interest in keeping a blog.
And yet, here you have it. Shannon’s travelblog.
The plan is to post a brief (really brief) outline of what I’ve done each day. When I come back to Melbourne, I’ll restrospectively post photos to produce a Nice, Chronological, Subject Indexed Photo Album. Huzzah!
Of course my mum will be expecting a bit more than a tawdry list throughout September - so – pending completion of the Grand Plan, I’ll try and post a few pictures every couple of days, along with some interesting commentary. Feel free to check in every few days (or not) to see what I’m up to.
